A contract signing ceremony was convened between MCC and M.A. Kharafi Group (MAK Group) of Kuwait in MCC Tower on October 11, 2010, for construction of JABER AL AHMED CITY, N2. Leaders and guests present at the event included: President Shen Heting, Vice President Huang Dan, CFO Li Shiyu and Vice President Wang Xiufeng of MCC Limited; President Fischer of MAK Group and his delegates.
This Project is invested by Public Housing Administration of Kuwait, and contracted by MAK Group, the largest building contractor in Kuwait, on an EPC basis. The works sub-contracted by China First Metallurgical Construction Group (CFMCC Group) consists of 1,475 residential apartments and villas, school, hospital, mosque and the other facilities, with a contract value of KWD 160.5 million (equivalent to RMB 3.8 billion yuan). This works is to be completed with a period of 1,140 days, with a total construction area of over 1 million square meters and a concrete volume of over 600,000 cubic meters. And as a matter of fact, this is the ever largest project undertaken by MCC Limited and CFMCC Group in Kuwait.
Before the signing ceremony, MCC leaders Shen Heting, Huang Dan, Li Shiyu and Wang Xiufeng had a cordial meeting with President Fischer of MAK Group and his team.
At the event, Chairman Yuan Yucheng of CFMCC Group and President Fischer of MAK Group signed the contract in their respective capacities. Vice CFO Zou Hongying of MCC Limited was also present at the ceremony.
