To thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important discourses and instructions on work safety, and further enhance the emergency response capability in dealing with emergencies, on June 21, the emergency rescue drill for typhoon and flood prevention as well as electric shock accidents, sponsored by China MCC and undertaken by Minmetals 23rd Metallurgical Construction Group, was held at the project site of Hainan Lingshui Li'an International Education Innovation Pilot Zone.
This emergency rescue drill for typhoon and flood prevention as well as electric shock accidents tested the operability of the emergency plans through practical exercises by simulating extreme weathers and sudden accidents. The drill proceeded in a tense yet orderly manner, with each team having clear divisions of labor and close coordination. From receiving early warning information on typhoon and flood prevention, activating emergency responses, conducting on-site emergency disposal to inspecting the resumption of work and production after the typhoon passed over; from discovering and reporting the electric shock accidents, emergency power-off, medical rescue to subsequent accident investigation, with the entire drill process closely linked in an efficient and standardized manner. This fully demonstrated the professional qualities and collaborative combat capabilities of the emergency rescue teams, accumulating valuable experience for real emergencies.
It was pointed out at the event that this drill, based on Hainan's regional characteristics such as frequent typhoons, frequent rainstorms, and high risks of electric shock, not only tested the emergency plans and tempered the teams but also sounded the alarm for us to "be alert to dangers even in times of calm and always be on the alert". All participants in the drill should run the rigorous style and team spirit honed during the drills through every link of project construction to make "prevention first and risk avoidance as priority" a conscious action of all staff.
It was demanded at the event that everyone should maintain a clear awareness of "treading as if on thin ice". Everyone should dynamically study and judge the ever-changing environment to ensure timely response, consolidate the achievements of the drills, build standardized templates, and promote unscripted drills to enhance practical response capabilities. Additionally, everyone should improve the long-term mechanism, continuously strengthen knowledge training and skill competitions, and ensure that "everyone can respond to emergencies".
Over 100 people participated in this drill, including safety-related leaders in charge, safety directors, heads of safety departments, and emergency rescue teams from China MCC, Minmetals 23rd Metallurgical Construction Group, China MCC1 Group, MCC Tiangong, China MCC19 Group, Shanghai Baoye, and the General Contracting Branch.
