On December 18, the Investment Promotion Meeting for Graphite New Materials Industry of Heilongjiang Province and Founding Ceremony for China Minmetals Graphite Industry Co., Ltd. (Heilongjiang) was held in Harbin, Heilongjiang. At the beginning of the ceremony, Guo Wenqing watched a video to introduce China Minmetals Heilongjiang Graphite Industry Project with attendees, reviewing the basic information and development history of the graphite industry project (Heilongjiang) of China Minmetals. Next, Guo Wenqing and Wang Wentao together pressed the crystal ball marking the beginning of China Minmetals Graphite Industry Co., Ltd. (Heilongjiang) to announce the official establishment of the company.
Guo Wenqing said in his speech that he welcomed all leaders and guests and expressed his thanks to all parties for their strong support to China Minmetals. He pointed out that the China Minmetals, formed from the strategic restructuring of two Fortune Global 500 enterprises, was China’s largest and most internationalized metal mining enterprise, concurrently the first state-owned capital investment company in metal mining approved by the State Council. In recent years, China Minmetals, under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, has greatly improved its value creation capability, industrial status and development quality in an all-round way. According to Guo Wenqing, for conducting the cooperation between China Minmetals and Heilongjiang Provincial People's Government to carry out the Heilongjiang Hegang Graphite Industrial Integration Project and make it a world-class graphite industry base, it is a major measure to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's guidance on the revitalization of the Northeast China in a new era and to promote to form a high-quality local economic layout where enterprises supplement each other; a major measure that turns Heilongjiang's resource advantages into economic advantages and industrial advantages to revitalize Heilongjiang; a major measure to greatly improve the whole industry chain so as to enhance the global competitiveness, influence and right of speech of China's industries. The establishment of China Minmetals Graphite Industry Co., Ltd. (Heilongjiang) marks the comprehensive implementation of the Heilongjiang Hegang Graphite Industrial Integration Project. (Heilongjiang) and introduced the development situation of Heilongjiang's graphite new materials industry. According to Wang Wentao, Heilongjiang tops the list of China's graphite reserves, so it has the industrial advantage to develop graphite new materials. In recent years, Heilongjiang Provincial People's Government has issued a series of special plans on technological development of graphite industry, formulated a three-year action plan of graphene industry, taken graphite new materials industry as the focus among emerging industries, increased support for competitive enterprises by giving resource priority to them thus to cultivate leading enterprises, and strengthened the project bearing capacity and factor agglomeration function of the graphite park to promote the development of clustering and integration. At present, in order to become a powerful industrial province, Heilongjiang is speeding up the integration of exploration, mining and processing, striving to build an innovation-driven industry chain of graphite new materials, and accelerating the promotion of graphite new materials industry into a hundred-billion-level industry.
