On June 18, the First Supply Chain Cooperation and Development Conference of China MCC grandly opened in Beijing. Themed on "Integration, Promotion, Integrity, and Win-win Results", over 300 industry leaders, company representatives, and supply chain partners gathered at the conference to jointly explore paths for collaborative innovation and high-quality development of the supply chain.
In his opening speech, Chen Jianguang, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy General Manager, and Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China MCC, stated that after more than 70 years of development, China MCC has built a series of well-known benchmark buildings and brand projects both at home and abroad in the fields of metallurgical construction and non-steel construction. It owns multiple operating and to-be-operated mining resources overseas, and has laid out more than 100 overseas institutions around the world. It boasts competitive advantages in integrated whole-industry-chain operations and EPC general contracting. With such strengths, it has the capability, confidence, and resolve to assume the responsibilities of a "chain leader" enterprise in the supply chain, and to lead its extensive partners in opening up broad development space.
Chen Jianguang pointed out that in the face of the current industry environment undergoing in-depth adjustments, "involution generates no value at all, and zero-sum games will only waste more resources". Only by upholding the cooperation philosophy of "integration, promotion, integrity and win-win results" can we meet industry challenges and achieve transformation and upgrading. Chen Jianguang put forward four initiatives to his partners: First, promote joint development through integration. Strengthen information sharing, resource interconnection, and quality control to jointly enhance the safety and stability of the supply chain, and build a supply chain ecosystem with collaborative efficiency. Second, pursue development through joint advancement. Build a more open collaboration platform to drive technological innovation, guide the iteration and upgrading of standards, stimulate new growth drivers, and advance an efficient, green, and intelligent supply chain development model. Third, fortify the bottom line through joint integrity. Comprehensively implement transparent procurement, make clear prohibited areas, and strengthen joint supervision to establish a clean and honest supply chain cooperation relationship. Fourth, create value through win-win results. Conduct in-depth cooperation to help partners achieve progress and build a supply chain community of shared prosperity while improving the quality of contract performance.
Zhang Zhaoxiang, President of China Association of Construction Enterprise Management (CACEM), spoke highly of China MCC's innovative practices. He pointed out that the release of the list of A-level suppliers and the cooperative development initiative constitutes a crucial step in building a high-quality supply chain ecosystem. He stated that the CACEM would rely on the digital supply chain public service platform to assist the enterprise in digital and intelligent transformation, and jointly build an open and collaborative industrial ecosystem.
Jiang Wei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President and Secretary-General of China Iron and Steel Association, focused on the green, low-carbon and intelligent transformation of the iron and steel industry. He proposed to build three lines of defense of key technology research, strategic partner cooperation, and green and intelligent collaboration, and called on upstream and downstream enterprises to jointly respond to challenges such as carbon tariffs and digitalization, and to build a resilient supply chain. The Association would work together to promote the high-quality and sustainable development of China's iron and steel industry.
Xiao Peng, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of China MCC, read out the Initiative on Supply Chain Cooperative Development of China MCC, which specifies such principles as "honest cooperation, fairness and impartiality, integrity and self-discipline, quality first, innovative collaboration, green and low-carbon development, and harmonious development". Bai Xiaohu, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of China MCC, together with representatives of six suppliers, participated in the initiative release ceremony, demonstrating the determination to build a community with a shared future in the industrial chain. On top of that, the conference also announced the list of China MCC's level A suppliers for 2024.
At the conference, representatives from China MCC22 Group, WISDRI, MCCT and other subsidiaries shared their innovative practices in supply chain collaboration, covering the construction, design consulting and resource development. Supplier representatives discussed the directions for deepening cooperation on equipment manufacturing, digital technology, and labor subcontracting.
This conference is not only a milestone for China MCC in deepening supply chain management, but also an important engine for the Group to promote further transformation and upgrading for high-quality development. All sides at the conference reached a consensus: Only through ecological integration, joint promotion of innovation, and joint commitment to integrity can the overall upgrading of the industrial chain be achieved, facilitating the sustainable growth of Chinese path to modernization.
